An Outcast in the Nation

Life isn’t easy, living in fear
I must not get reported
Not knowing when they’ll knock at your door
I might just get deported.
It’s horrible knowing hate still exists
Knowing people are ok with destroying a family
Once they show up, you almost always know your fate
It never really ends happily
Families are torn apart
I must not get reported
All because we are different cultures
I might just get deported
It really breaks your heart
To see children left alone
All because people see us differently
Only way of communication, through the phone.
Many people arrived in different ways
But we all had the same goal
Looking for a better life
Throughout the process we develop a devotion in our soul
A love for this country
No one can take away
Makes us strive to do our best
To make this country greater everyday
Some people decide to look away
The effort put in everyday, isn’t taken into consideration
When people make choices against us
Not knowing the effects it will have on the nation
Most have the same story
Coming here for children to have a better life
We don’t deserve the rejection
It all feels like getting wounded with a knife
Not everyone is a racist, a murderer, or drug dealer
Not everyone is here to do harm
Not everyone is a terrorist
Not everyone sits back and relaxes on a farm
It really breaks your heart
To see children left alone
All because people see us differently
Only way of communication, through the phone
We must have a voice
For it is hard to let a loved one go
Just imagine the pain, when separated
We must stand together and say “no”
Let us live in fear no more
For the majority of us mean no wrong
You may try to harm us today
But if we stand united, we will be strong.
God Bless the USA
