College and Technical Fair Comes to LHS

Whether it is college, vocational technical school, or the military, the Juniors and Seniors of LHS had a chance to explore their interests at the annual college fair.

Organizer and CTEi Guidance Councilor Mary Bilotta expanded this year’s fair from just vocational offerings to also add academic and military options.

“We want an option for everybody,”  said Bilotta.

The fair included colleges from around New England with representatives from career paths like vocational, technical, academic, vehicle design, and the military. Students were given flyers, applications, and info cards throughout periods two and three.

Common questions students asked were how much do people enjoy their jobs and how the dorms were, said one recruiter from the military.

Questions about requirements and courses were also answered by Maine University Representative Hannah Achron.

“We’re looking for people with good recommendations, a GPA of 3.0 and involvement with their communities,” said Achron.
