The front of the auditorium at LHS has been reconstructed into a dental clinic this past week.
Four dental hygienists from Community Health Connections (CHC) came to Leominster High School to provide a free cleaning service to students.
This program is very popular with 200 students at LHS alone signing up, keeping each hygienist very busy.
In LHS each hygienist sees 10 kids a day. In the middle schools, each hygienist sees 12 kids a day. Lastly, in the elementary schools, each hygienist treated 15 kids a day.
The CHC program, Caring for Kids, is based out of Central Massachusetts. The program has been going on for about 20 years.
Dr. Peter Jengo, DDS, explained he started this program to provide free cleaning services to help kids’ health. He says he is proud of the program and wants to help the kids to remain healthy.
