In a recent home game against Nashoba Regional High School, triple-sport captain and LHS Senior Kailyn Cuddahy scored her 100th goal of her lacrosse career in the third game of her senior season.
Kailyn, also known by her friends and family as “KK,” is a vital player on the Leominster Varsity Lacrosse team due to her goal-driven mindset.
“KK is probably one of the most passionate players we have…she has a winning mindset,” said Junior Varsity Coach and LHS Dean of Freshmen Samantha Comeau.
Over her 4 years, Kailyn has missed around 25 lacrosse games due to a shoulder injury freshman year and a broken ankle her junior year. “So it is very impressive that she has made her 100 goals so early in the season,” Comeau said
“Going into the season, she had a general idea she was at 90-something goals, so there wasn’t much pressure,” Comeau added.
During the game, the team was on a roll, and when Cuddahy scored her 100th goal, it was announced on the loudspeaker. Her teammates paraded her and congratulated her for her accomplishment.
The game ball was also traded in for a new one so Cuddahy could keep her 100th goal ball as a souvenir and remembrance of her years playing lacrosse for the Leominster Blue Devils.
Another senior captain, Alana Marchetti, is also close to 100 goals as well, so make sure to check out the upcoming girls’ lacrosse games at the historic Doyle Field to see her accomplishments as well.
The next home game is Thursday, 4/17, at 6:00 against Algonquin.
