Leominster High School’s Life Skills program is hosting its 16th annual talent show this year, and all students are excited to come show their support and enjoy a great show. In fact, this year, for the first time ever, two talent shows are being held due to the large number of students that have purchased tickets in recent years.
The talent show is the highlight of all Life Skills students’ years. As soon as March rolls around, plans for the show start being formed and excitement and anticipation are in the air. Life Skills students work with teachers and student mentors to create their own props from scratch, unique to the show they will be performing. They also practice their acts in front of their peers to build confidence and ensure they are ready for the big day. I was able to talk to some of the students and get their opinions on this year’s show.
When asked about how they felt about having two shows this year, Life Skills student Jack Cotoni said “It’s really good! Yeah, I’m glad, it’s gonna be fun!”
When I asked Life Skills student Eliyah Troce the same question, he was less excited. A recent basketball-related ankle injury left Troce using crutches and a wheelchair, meaning performing in the talent show will be much more difficult. He said, “ It sucks, usually I’m dancing but now they’re gonna have to spin me around and stuff.”
Despite this setback, everyone is optimistic and excited to put on another great show to be enjoyed by all of LHS.
Tickets for Freshman/Sophomores and Juniors/Seniors will remain on sale until 2nd lunch on the 17th, so it’s not too late to buy a ticket if you haven’t already and show your support for these talented students.
