Disney+, a new streaming platform for all things Disney, launched on November 12, 2019. The streaming service quickly became popular thanks to the new show The Mandalorian and a character people are calling Baby Yoda.

(SPOILERS AHEAD! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the show. If not, may the force be with you.)

The Mandalroian is set after the fall of the Empire, before the creation of the First Order. The story depicts a lone bounty hunter called a Mandalorian, though others in the show typically refer to him as “Mando” for short, who is far from the New Republic in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is on to collect a bounty, but seemingly runs into a small, mysterious green creature who can use the force.

This small green creature is suddenly a topic of conversation in the halls of LHS.

“I haven’t seen the show, but Baby Yoda is very adorable,” said LHS Junior Maynashley Perez. Most people, like her, have not seen the show either, but have still fallen in love with the little green creature.

However one student complainedĀ “I hate him and he’s over-saturated in the media,” saidĀ  LHS Junior Derek Morand, who also hasn’t seen the show. “But he’s adorable,” he admitted.

Even teachers are mesmerized by Baby Yoda. Janelle Brunetti, a world history teacher here at LHS who has only seen the first three episodes of The Mandalorian, also had to comment on the mysterious creature.

“He’s very cute,” said Brunetti. “I’m intrigued to see the connection between Baby Yoda and the actual Yoda from the Star Wars series.”

Baby Yoda has become so popular in the media, all Star Wars memes couldn’t go without him, and people have even started making songs about the little creature.
