After a hard fought four-game week, Leominster High School Girls Basketball ended their regular season on a high note, beating Fitchburg 44-30.

Sophomore Kyra Forsberg and freshman Mia Keenan each contributed 11 points to lead the Blue Devils.

Both teams had a student section of fans, continuing the Leominster v. Fitchburg rivalry, which created for a rowdy, physical, and drama-filled game.

“We were a little bit rattled in the first half,” explained Kyra Forsberg. “Second half we ended up doing much better staying calm and focused. We made more of our shots and played good defense, and we boxed out. And it worked out for us because we came out on top,” Forsberg said after the game.

After the game, Leominster honored seniors Ava McDonald and Laura Young with flowers, posters, and a decorated gym, making for a bittersweet end to the night.
