
On March 11, 2026, 33 students representing 13 different shops from Leominster High School’s CTEi showcased their skills at the SkillsUSA District 5 Conference, competing against other schools’ top talent across Central Massachusetts. Participating schools included Blackstone Valley Tech, BayPath, Monty Tech, Pathfinder, and Tantasqua High School, among others.
SkillsUSA is a selective program that allows students who excel in their technical education programs to showcase and demonstrate their expertise in their shops, ranging from trades like Electrical and Carpentry, to fields like culinary and graphic design. Competitions are designed to reflect real-world standards to challenge the students to think critically under pressure and apply precise technical knowledge.
CTEi students at Leominster delivered an impressive performance at the district level, which included several top placements and qualifying for the upcoming State Conference, which will be held from April 30 to May 1.

At the State Competition, students will be evaluated by industry professionals who assess their technical abilities, professionalism, and accuracy as they demonstrate their hands-on skills and their readiness for future careers in their respective fields.
In the past, Leominster has taken 1st place in many state competitions and has even had medal winners at the National Competition.
With the State Conference fast approaching, these students will now prepare to compete against the best across Massachusetts. Success at the state level could lead to vast opportunities in the future and to an opportunity to represent their school at Nationals.
For these students, their achievements mark steps towards their goals and future careers. They may also earn scholarships, and/or prizes in their field.
The state competition will be held at the Best Western Conference Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts, from April 30 to May 2.
