The LHS Theatre Company, led by educators Andrea Mastroianni and Timothy Smith, announced that the winner of Best Actor for the State of Massachusetts is LHS’s own Nathan Daniels.
Nathan, a junior at LHS, will represent MA at the 2026 Jimmy Awards on Monday, June 22, at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City.
Nathan was nominated based on his role as the Scarecrow in this year’s musical, The Wizard of Oz. The best 116 Musical Theatre students across the country will head to NYC on June 12th to work with Broadway professionals for 12 days and prepare to compete and perform on a Broadway stage.
Earlier this year. Nathan was interviewed by the Devil’s Advocate as he prepared for the role of the scarecrow. At that time, he said, “taking something that is a classic and adding the Leominster [Theatre] Company’s spin on it,” is what he enjoyed. “Since the show is a 1930 film and it’s now 2025, every person has their own little spin on their character which makes the show so beautiful.”
“We are SO proud of Nathan and excited to see him represent Leominster High School! Please congratulate him and wish him well!” said Mastroianni in a press release.
