Super Bowl commercials are just as much a part of the big game as the touchdowns and snacks, some make us laugh, others may make us tear up, and some make us question whatever it is we just watched.
This year we got a mix of all of the above, from nostalgic throwbacks to celebrity-filled chaos.
Here’s our ranking of the top 10 Super Bowl ads from good, but not great, to absolute eye-catchers.
10. GoDaddys Google Glasses- Although this ad was funny all they were trying to do was sell us some ridiculous goggle glasses and the ad itself felt more like a skit, although some may have given out a little chuckle it’s not the type of ad people will talk about next year.
9. Square Space’s “Dream It”- In this ad we saw Barry Keoghan floating through a dream world while talking about building websites and although it was cool to watch, it didn’t hit the emotional funny bone in the way a lot of the other ads did.
8. Doritos “Intergalactic Dance Off”- Doritos is always known for wild commercials and this one was definitely out there. It had aliens and a dance-off which was fun, but it didn’t quite hit the same level of iconic as some past Doirto ads.
7. Little Caesars “Levy Family Pizza Night”- It was a wholesome father-daughter pizza night. It had a mix of family banter making it relatable and promoted Little Caesars pizza.
6. Hellman’s “When Harry Met Sally”- Meg Ryan and Bill Crystal reuniting for a mayo commercial plus Sydney Sweeney was an ad that probably made anyone over 30 emotional. The ad itself was cute, but mostly relied on nostalgia so it didn’t crack the top five.
5. Nike “So Win”- Nike brought together some of the biggest female athletes and essentially told the world ,“women in sports are amazing, deal with it,” which was I’m sure was a powerful and inspirational ad to women all over the world.
4. Dunkin Donuts “Affleck brothers and Jeremy Strong”- Jeremy Strong, Casey Affleck, and Ben Affleck all made fun of their Dunkin’ obsession while drawing on their Boston heritage. The commercial was funny and relevant since it blended passion for the coffee with brotherly humor.
3. Haagen Dazs “Fast and Furious family”- The cast of the Fast & Furious franchise, which included Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Vin Diesel, all world-renowned actors turned a car chase into an ice cream break. Using the franchise’s well-known “family” theme, the advertisement focused on their friendship over Häagen-Dazs rather than intense drama. Fast and Furious is loved by so many and that is why it’s in the top three.
2. Michelob ULTRA “Pickleball Hustlers”- This game is becoming a huge hit with young adults. Catherine O’Hara and Willem Dafoe playing experienced pickleball players pretending to be beginners who then hustle their opponents for beer was just too funny.
1.UberEats “Matthew McConaughey’s Legendary Feast”- Matthew McConaughey transforming into different legendary sports just to show off the wide range of delivery options uber-eats has was perfect for the Super Bowl and it was really entertaining and also an enjoyable ad. That’s why it got put in number 1.
