Behind the Scenes of the LHS Musical Pajama Game

Behind the scenes of the musical The Pajama Game is Junior Gianna Doherty

The Devil’s Advocate spent some time behind the scenes with the Leominster High School Theatre Company as they prepared for this year’s musical Pajama Game.

While preparing for the musical, The Pajama Game, Freshmen Bailey Noyes and Ian Moulton paint the set for different scenes. The picture on the bottom shows Bailey painting the backdrop for the company in the musical and the pictures on the top and just below show props such as a railroad sign and sewing tables.

During rehearsals in the auditorium, Seniors Marissa Gonzalez and Hailey Joseph, Junior Jay Murphy, and last but certainly not least Freshman Emma Bremermann practice their solo dance Steam Heat, the first performance of Act 2. The girls practice with hats for props 8 the dance below. (Emma Wood)

One set in the musical includes a kitchen with a fridge, stove, sink, as well as a table and chairs. These set pieces were all created by the wonderful crew who made the musical possible

Before rehearsal Freshman Adain Hughes (above) and Junior Dannel Diaz, (below) get their hair styled. The musical takes place in the 1950’s, inspiring unique hairstyles for the cast. The crew members as well as other caste members stylize the boys hair and blow dry it. The hairstyles in this musical required large amounts of hairspray, blow drying, and curling.

Above is Junior Gianna Doherty and below is Junior Dannel Diaz. Gianna and Dannel were the leads of our musical The Pajama Game. They play Babe Williams (Gianna) who is the Grievance Committee and Sid Sorokin (Dannel) who is the Superintendent. Both characters are fierce and passionate about their place in the company. They wear 50’s style clothing for the factory. These two were absolutely perfect for the roles and are amazing actors and singers.
