Leominster High School’s Health Club works to help communities in need while promoting physical well-being and healthy lifestyle habits among students and the Leominster community.
Health Club is dedicated to improving the community by organizing special events and helping those in need through donations such as care packages and food drives.
The club fosters a welcoming community where everyone can have fun. It is a place to relax and enjoy time while participating in meaningful activities.
LHS Senior and club member Adriana Buteyn said “I like the community. It’s a great environment and is very inclusive. We do a lot of fun things, including card making, decorating, bake sales, and the schedule is very flexible, so you can come whenever you can and stay for as long as you want. And everyone is very nice and welcoming.”
This month, the club has focused on making Christmas cards for nursing home residents.
“Some residents don’t get to spend the holidays with their families, so getting a card still shows them the Holiday spirit and love they need,” said LHS Senior and club member Ila Roemmele. “It is a small effort for a big difference.”
If you have a passion for health and fitness and want to make a meaningful impact in the local community, Health Club is the place for you.
This club is run by Health Occupation teacher and Club Advisor Jean Ordway and it meets every other Monday after school in C200 B (Ms. Ordway’s room).
