With most early action deadlines wrapping up last weekend, the Devil’s Advocate wanted to see if other students were feeling stressed like we were. Here is some of the feedback we received.

LHS Senior Angelis Hidalgo, who plans on being a nurse practitioner said she was stressed by her college essay saying that she wants to “make it proficient.”
While she doesn’t have her recommendations in yet, they are on the way. She said she felt “very overwhelmed” and “unprepared”
But she is confident that she will hit her deadlines because she’s a hard worker who’s determined to succeed.
“It’s all worth it because you’re investing in yourself,” said Angelis.

LHS Senior Ebenz Edouard said he preferably wants to go to UMass Lowell or Amherst where he plans to major in Business or Computer Science.
Although Ebenz isn’t doing early action, he said that doesn’t mean that there still isn’t stress.
With a January 15th deadline, he still needs his recommendations and to have his essay completed. He knows he will be able to be ready by the deadline with all the required information.

LHS Senior Owen Parlin is applying to Assumption, Bentley, Bryant, and UMass Amherst where he wants to major in Finance.
Owen said he submitted everything over a week before.
Although he was prepared well in advance, he was still stressed by the specific essays individual colleges require.
Being prepared can avoid a lot more stress than waiting until the last minute he said.

LHS Senior Nathaniel Anim is applying to Dartmouth, Merrimack, Amherst, Mount Wachusett, and Bentley where he plans to major in Computer Science or Cyber Security.
He’s not applying early to any school except Dartmouth where he has all of his information completed for his November 15th deadline.
Nathaniel was stressed about his guidance counselor uploading his transcript on time saying previously they have “ditched on my appointment”.
Just like many others he thought the essay was stressful, but found the Common App and Financial Aid was very helpful and easy to use.

Finally, LHS Senior Philip Nfor is applying to Northeastern, Boston University, and Bentley and he plans to major in Information Technology or in Computer Science Engineering.
Philip has been stressed by the essay and its revisions as well as his recommendations.
“Most of the process was easy, Philip said, adding, “I should have done stuff sooner.”
Let the Devil’s Advocate know how your experience was applying to Early Decision in the comments.
