Leominster allows a mix of juniors and seniors to park at school.

If you drive yourself to school, you probably know the hassle it is to park at LHS.

People park too close to each other and there is never enough space.

Now with winter adding snow to the mix, it has just gotten harder.

Most students have agreed parking here is an absolute nightmare.

LHS Senior Abigail Renzi, said that the people driving to school suck at parking cars. They either park crooked or not good at all.

She added that they should also have more than two exits out of the school at the end of the day because traffic is so bad.

Jonathan Vasques, another student here, agreed that driving here in the morning is awful because there is so much traffic.

Now with the snow falling, he said the snow that falls gets plowed it takes up more space in the lot.

LHS Senior Josue Hernandez, said that parking here is absolutely terrible.

There are no spots here, and he is terrified about parking here because he has a nice car. He doesn’t want it to get hit or scratched.

School Resource Officer Michael Kochanski said there are not enough parking spots for the number of students who want to drive to school.

There should be more parking spots for students and more lots.

LHS Dean Barry Hudson said that the barn lot should be paved and lined.

During the winter there aren’t enough spots because the snow takes up some space and is a pain.

Office Secretary Desire Maldonado, a secretary in the office, said that students should not be parking in the teacher lot. When that happens too many cars getting scratched or hit and are not being accounted for. No one has “time for that.”

She is afraid of parking here because kids can’t drive properly.

Nurse Katrina Couture had a suggestion. She said there definitely is not enough parking.

“Students should have designated spots, so they are not hiding in the teachers’ lot”, she said adding “There should also be something to scan your car in and out”.

What is your opinion on parking at LHS? We would love to hear your suggestions in the comment section.
